Vacation

It is Thursday again it seems as tho that is my favorite day to blog LOL. I have next week off of work and so does Nick so we are headed up to the cottage for the week. I can't wait! I always have these grand illusions that I will sleep in and take a nap if needed and it never happens. I am so excited to be there that I find myself going to bed late and waking up early which leaves me tired when I get home. So I guess I need a vacation from my vacation LOL. I hope the weather is nice for us. We have alot of plans for fishing, tubing, golfing and some fireworks. I just love this time of year. Then we will come home Sunday for 4 days and then head back up there for the 4th. The 4th of July in this town is so much fun. They have a parade, festival and fireworks. The population on a normal day is like 200 but on the 4th it is about 1,000. It will be alot of fun. The kids are going to be with their dad on the 4th so it will give Nick and I some time to ourselves :) Also next week is our anniversary June 26th we will be married 3 years and oh how I thank God every day for him! He is simply my soul mate in every way!

I have to get back to work and I will hopefully have alot of pictures to post from our vacation when I get back.

Weekend

I had my twin nieces who are 13 for the weekend and OMG we had so much fun! Me, Sarah, Lindsey and Erica went to the mall Friday night and I will tell you there is nothing like 4 girls shopping we had a blast! The girls are from up north and they really never experienced a mall like the one we have. They were just amazeed! They now claim they are only doing school shopping down here. I told them they can come whenever they want. Then Saturday we went to the Gratiot cruise and of course everyone had a good time. The weather was perfect and the cars were just amazing.

Sunday of course was Fathers Day and I am always missing my dad so much on that day. I however, am so thankful for my husband he has been the best step dad to my children he treats them like they were his own. I could not ask for better! He slept on the couch and enjoyed a day of doing nothing, had his favorite dinner which is pasta, salad and italian bread. It was a very relaxing day! I have my dad's ashes and I took him to enjoy dinner with us as well. Oh how I miss my Dad!

I forgot the best news of all Sarah made the highschool cheer team! We are so excited! She is gonna look so cute in her uniform! Our Fall is gonna be alot of Football.... Dom manages the Varsity Football Team and his games are on Fridays and Sarah's games are on Thursday!

Excited!

Today was the last day of school for my kids! That means, no more homework, lunches or rushing around in the morning! woooooooo hoooooooo I am loving it!
I love the Summer! In the past week we have had very hot, humid and stormy weather. It is kinda funny because the whole day will be nice and then about 4 or 5 we get a storm blow in and it only lasts about an hour if that. Last Sunday we had a storm and it was bad and left us without power for 2 days. That sucked! I love it when it is hot and humid but I like it better when we have power LOL.

I have not mentioned that I have a 1972 Chevelle that I absolutely love driving in the summer! Nick and I go to alot of car shows and just overall have a blast with it. Sunday we went to a car show at the beach and it was about 95 out and where did I sit surely on the sand! I was so burnt that night I pretty much could not move! Then no power I was miserable. I love the late nights of summer too! It just a great time of year.

I am excited my twin nieces are coming to stay with me tomorrow for the weekend. They are girls and 13 so we will have 2-13 year olds and 2-14 year olds and a 17 year old hmmmm sounds fun actually it will be we have alot of activities planned for the weekend. Friday we are going to the Fish Fly Festival. Does anyone else have Fish Flies where they live or are they a Michigan thing? Then Saturday is the big Gratiot Cruise. It will be alot of fun!

I sure hope everyone is enjoying their summer I know I plan on it.

Yay Red Wings!!!!!

The Red Wings won the Stanley Cup last night! We are all huge hockey fans so this was an extremely exciting time. They played here in Detroit on Monday and lost :( the game went into 3 periods of overtime which lasted until about 1:00 a.m. I stayed up to watch that then went to work Tuesday. I was up late Tuesday til like 3:00 a.m. So yesterday I was so tired! I got home last night did my things to get ready for game time at 8:00. Sat down with my popcorn, jammies all set for the game! I got thru the 1st period OMG I was so pissed I woke up to the news! I said to Nick ---- how could you let me fall asleep like that? He said you were sleeping so sound I did not want to wake you up. Isn't he sweet! I am still kinda pissed at myself today I was looking forward to that game for 2 days. They still won that is the important part! Detroit is stoked for the parade on Friday. It is supposed to be 90 degrees tomorrow but will still be fun.

I am just so happy that tomorrow is Friday. I work 1 Saturday a month and last Saturday was my day so by the time the end of the following week comes I am exhausted. Especially with all the late nights I had this week. I need the weekend badly! I love summers in Michigan it is beautiful here. It is just the winters that SUCK! So the weekend is supposed to be hot and humid the way I like it. I will be enjoying every minute of it.
