Motherhood

I have always had a weak stomach when it comes to smells, someone puking or anything like that. When I got pregnant for the first time I told my mom I was not sure how to handle if my kids were to puke. She said "Oh when they are yours you will be able to handle it". She lied because I have never been able to handle it even when they are mine. I could handle the spitting up as babies but after that OMG I can't do it. When I was married the first time whenever the kids got sick they would go to their dad LOL. Then when I got divorced and we lived alone I would stand outside the shut bathroom door and say are you sure your OK? Isn't that pathetic? So tonight Marco came home from the mall walked in the door right into the bathroom and puked. He got most of where he should have but not all of it. I had just got done cleaning that bathroom. So Nick is watching the hockey game and I go and sit over so nice and say could you do me a favor and clean the bathroom? He said yes! I guess that is when you know your husband loves you and his step kids LOL. I am just thankful I did not have to do it because it probably would have taken me 2 hours of in and out of the bathroom, gagging and spraying Lysol LOL.

I love Summer Time

I can't belive it has been a week since I posted..... time sure flys by! We went up north for Memorial Weekend and the weather was great! We helped my step-mom with the yard work, fished, relaxed and ate. I mean that is pretty much what I did all weekend was eat. OMG on the drive home I felt so bloated and miserable. It felt so good tho to relax and just hang out with the family.

This past week has been so busy with end of the school year activities. We had the twins awards night last night and they were so cute. Marco gets so embarrassed up in front of people and makes shy cute faces! I love it! Sarah on the other hand is not embarrassed at all. She just stands up there in her pretty little sundress and smiles LOL. I wish I knew how to post pictures on here because I would. I have tons to post just don't know how to do it. So if anyone out there could help me that would be appreciated.

My son Dom actually had an interview yesterday wooo hooo he is gonna get a job. I told him it would be nice if in the summer he would get a job because with the gas prices the way they are it is killing me to fill his car, mine and thankfully Nick has a gas card for work. Even so the gas prices are just insane. I hear they will be up to $5 or $6 a gallon by the end of summer. That is crazy! I heard on the news this morning that they are investigating the pricing and I was like it is about time!

It is the weekend again YAY! We don't have any plans for this weekend other than hanging out which is the way I like it. I am hoping to get some sun time this weekend because my legs sure need it.

Teenagers!

I sometimes feel like I am being invaded by teenagers. I would not change it for anything but sometimes it is just a tad too much. In the morning Dom and Nick are up first and they pretty got their routine down pat. Dom leaves first then Nick. That leaves Me, Sarah and Marco. We have 3 bathrooms and Marco uses 1 and me and Sarah use the other. Nobody uses the 3rd bathroom and I still don't know why. The bathroom that Sarah and I use I refer to as "mine". Sarah takes her shower at night. I take mine in the morning. So this is kinda how our morning went:

Me: Good Morning Sarah
Sarah: Don't talk to me
Me: Ok
so I get in the shower
and get out as I am getting out I realize she has left the door opened!
Me: Sarah do you think you can close the door so I can have some privacy
Sarah: Yeah (eyeroll)
Me: Well how would you feel if I opened the door while you were in the shower?
Sarah: Well I lock the door
Me: Well then I guess I will start locking the door too so you can't come in
Sarah: Where will I get ready at?
Me: I guess you will have to use the other bathroom!
Sarah: FINE I WILL...... as she storms out of the bathroom

Is it such a hard concept to grasp..... I mean they get privacy ...... why can't I???/

Just sharing a little morning around our house LOL.

We have a busy night as tonight is the twins band concert. Tomorrow is the beginning of a holiday weekend YAY!!! We are going up north to my step mom's house. So there will be alot of relaxing, fishing and cocktails!

Life

It is a nice spring day here sunny and kinda warm like 62 degrees. The school year is approaching an end and it just amazes me how fast time goes by. It feels like the kids just started school and yet we are preparing for another year to end. The funny thing is they are already starting activities for the next school year. Marco started Marching band 2 weeks ago. Sarah is in cheerleading conditioning and tryouts are the 2nd week in June. I look forward to the Summer and the lazy days of Summer. It just seems like the activities just continue tho. I am excited for the next school year tho. My twins will be Freshman and Dom will be a Senior. Senior year is jam packed with activities and fun. So it is exciting and at the same time flying by.

I wish sometimes you could just make time slow down a little bit. It seems as if life is so fast like a roller coaster. LOL The weekend is a day away and I can't wait. We have no plans for the weekend at all which is wonderful! I might get to finally go to the show like I have wanted to for 3 weeks now.

I don't know if anyone out there is an Idol fan or not but I am addicted! The finale is next week and I am so hoping for David Archuleta to win. He is soooooo damn cute with his innocent smile and I totally think he deserves to win. We shall see on Wednesday!

Mothers Day

Mothers day is always a struggle for me anymore because of my mom! On Mothers day my mom, me, the kids and my Grandma used to always get together for a fun day of BBQ'g and just enjoying each others company. I always thought that it was great that my Grandma was actually a Great Grandma 6 times. In the last few years things have changed my Grandma passed away in 2004 and my mom had her stroke in 2003. So times have changed and its always a challenge for me. Any holiday anymore is a challenge for me. Life is so different now! I can normally pull myself together to enjoy them but in my heart I always yearn for the way the holidays used to be! This year we were going to have a big BBQ at our house with the whole family over. The kids were excited and so was I. Friday I am at the eye dr and I get a call from my husband saying his mom went into the hospital again. She had her hip replaced in February and has pulled it out of place 2 times now. She ended up staying in the hospital for the whole weekend and is coming home today. So I was disappointed about not being able to have out BBQ as planned. Don't get me wrong I am so glad is mom is ok! Just disappointed because this year I was actually looking forward to having everyone over.

So the day started out with my husband making me breakfast. Then the kids came home and gave me their gifts. My daughter made me a picture frame and put 3 pictures of us in it and it is so cute. My boys had my favorite picture blown up and put in a frame and the picture said Happy Mothers Day! Then my husband bought me the camera I have been wanting. So I am very thankful to have my kids and my husband! Then we headed out to see my mom at the nursing home, came home and had dinner and then headed to theh hospital to see my mother in law.

I just struggle with the life changes that have happened. I am better about it now than I used to be and I am sure the feeling of loss will never go away. I am just strongly reminded of it on the holidays!

Vision

I am sure that I have not mentioned that I wear glass 24/7. I have been in bi-focals for about 3 years now and it is annoying to say the least. I love getting dressed up to go places and then when I put my glasses on (even tho they are very stylish) I feel it ruins the whole look. I used to wear contacts for about 8 years and then something went wrong and every time I would wear them I would get pink eye so I gave on them 3 years ago. Well I went yesterday for my eye exam and I decided to try them again...... they now have multi-focal contacts which is great! So today is day number 2 and so far so good. I am so damn excited I can't stand it LOL. I can see so good with them too! Hopefully this time I will be able to keep wearing them without getting pink eye!

Texting

Two posts in one day I just could not resist. I need to talk about texting! I got a new phone about a month ago and I had the texting feature turned on. OMG it is controlling my life. I set my phone on my desk when I come into work and it starts blowing up with text messages. I try to sit and ignore it but it does get the best of me LOL. So I then look and respond. Yesterday I was at work and decided to just put it away because it is seriously distracting. I love it for the fact that if I need to tell you something I can just say what it is I need to say and nothing more and I don't need to hear anything you say LOL. The kids all have cell phones with texting too so we can all be sitting in the Great Room watching TV and my phone goes off and it is my son from like 2 feet away from me. It cracks me up but at the same time it is consuming me!!!! Does anyone else have this issue???

Life

Well, it has been a few days since I updated. I have been extremely busy. We went to the U.P. this past weekend to see my niece graduate from College. It was a long drive one that I do not care to make again LOL. It was like 6 hours. The way I feel about it is if I am going to drive that far I would like to be out of Michigan somewhere warm and sunny.... not colder! I mean I have lived in Michigan all my life and I knew it was big but DAMN! The only thing that was really neat was crossing the Mackinac Bridge it is 5 miles long. Once your on the other side of the bridge into the U.P. there is pretty much nothing but country. So if you ever plan on visiting Michigan please visit the lower pennisula. The funny thing is that is not even to the end of the state. That would be like a 14 or 15 hour drive from where I live. I always thought that Georgia and Florida were the biggest and worst states to drive thru LOL.

The whole family came for the Graduation and we had about 8 rooms on the same floor so it was fun watching all the teenagers hang out together and do their thing. I think most teenagers now a days are constantly taking pictures of themselves for their MYSPACES. I was so proud of my niece she is a RN now and starts her new job in June. It is just so odd because sometimes I just don't think of her as old enough for this LOL.

The adults went out for adult time to the Casino wooo hooo! I love the Casinos. I love Roulette! The Casinos here in the Detroit area are a minimum bet of $15.00 and up there the minimum bet was .25 cents. I was like "what are you kidding me?" so needless to say we played there for about 4 hours and ended up losing still. Oh well, it was fun.

This week has been crazy for us one of my twins started Marching Band on Monday, drum lessons on Tuesdays and then the other twin started cheerleading conditioning yesterday. I am not so sure about the cheerleading thing but we will see how it works out. I am pretty excited for them to go to high school. My oldest has had a great time in high school. He was and still is involved in everything you can be in. I would rather have it that way then him do nothing. The only thing is now he is at the age where he can drive himself to the places he needs to go. My twins cannot :( so that means more running around after work which gets pretty tiring!

It is Thursday and I can't wait for tomorrow! Yes the weekend this week has gone by so fast! I hope everyone has a great weekend!
