Graduation party

So I have been throwing ideas around for Dom's party and have finalized what they are. I gotta say I am pretty excited. The guest list keeps growing we are at 120 people now. I decided to not have it at home because that is just too many people and by the time you do tables, tents and chairs it is pretty much the same cost as renting a hall. So all week I have been calling little halls and I had my mind set on one VFW hall that is really cute and it backs up to a huge park with volleyball and baseball diamonds. I didn't want everyone to be stuck inside all day on a nice summer day. I called and left a few messages and nobody called me back. I kept thinking oh well they are probably booked so I started looking at other places. Well, she called me back yesterday and they are not booked so I told her OMG I am so excited because I really wanted to have it there. So June 13th is the day and I can't wait. I am going to be doing a video with pictures of him from birth til now and of course a huge poster board. I started a scrap book too and I am way behind on finishing it but it will get done before then. I wanted to give it to him as a graduation present. I am still tossing ideas around for food. I was thinking of hiring the BBQ guy that comes equipped with this huge BBQ and you can tell him what you want. So we will see I got time to still figure that out. The important thing is I got the hall!

I don't know if I have ever mentioned on here that I have huge food allergies. I can NEVER eat at hall parties or weddings. I would need to know what is in all the food so I just eat before I go. I HATE it!!!! So it is important that I plan the menu at his party so I can eat everything because it just gets old watching everyone eat and enjoying food and I can't. So I am allergic to chicken, chocolate, apples, oranges, bananas and celery. So the list doesn't look so bad but chicken stock is in alot of food that you don't even realize and so is celery or celery salt. So those are the 2 things that makes it difficult to eat at halls. I didn't get tested until I was 30 so I know how good all that food is and it makes it harder to not eat it. Especially chocolate!! I keep telling Nick that one day I am gonna go on a chocolate binge and drive the nearest ER and sit in the parking eating it. Then walk in and tell them what I just did so they can hook me up with the medicine I need LOL. Nah I probably won't do that because I know how sick it makes me.

Another thing I am excited about is that Nick and I have been getting into NASCAR and my uncle goes to all the races in his huge motor home. So today we decided we are gonna go with them to the Michigan race in June. My old boss is on the pit crew for Montoya so we can get pit passes which will be exciting.

I am just a rambling on here I am so wired today! I haven't been working out in the last month and just started again this week so it wires me!

Thats all I gotta get back to work it is my Saturday ughhhh!!! Hey it is only til 1:00 so it goes by fast.

It is Friday!

I know I always post how much I love Fridays! That never changes I love every Friday. I love spending time with my family on the weekends. The kids go to their dad's house tonight so it will be Nick and I. Well, kinda sorta my niece is coming tonight to spend the night. I am excited to see her it has been awhile since she lives 4 hours away. So I think we will be doing some fun things.

Drs

I am feeling alot better today. The last few nights I have been up and down like every hour and last night I did not get up once. I think it was the pressure in my ear that was waking me up. I left work yesterday and went to the hospital to be with my MIL and hubby. I didn't get a chance to see her before she went into surgery :( So we sat and waited and waited and waited... finally teh dr comes out and he is trying to tell us what he did and pretty much stuttered thru the whole conversation. I know he did this to her and is still not willing to admit it. So it just pissed me off more that he thought we were that stupid to believe him when he said he did not do it when he said it was broken right at the prosthetic! It just angers me! He said for the next 4 - 6 weeks she cannot put any weight on her leg but they are gonna continue to bend her knee so it does not get stiff. She is gonna be bed bound for 4 - 6 weeks and a total healing time for her femur is 12 weeks!!!! I feel so bad for her and so helpless at the same time. She, however, is a trooper about it and still loves this dr. I don't get it!!!!!!!

It is sunny and 50 here today woo hoo I sure hope spring is around the corner.

Ear Infection ughhh!

So on Monday night I was at home and my ear started itching and bothering me. I started rubbing it because I have ear wax issues. Last night it was hurting and I continued to rub it. I got up this morning and it was really hurting so I got the ear wax removal shit you buy from the store out of the cabinet and tried to get it out. I have never had any luck with that EVER! It is annoying that they even sell it because it has never worked for me! Of course this time was no different still didn't work! I went to work freaking miserable because not only did it not work but it clogged my ear completely so I could not hear anything. Called my dr when I got to work and yep of course he could not see me until Friday! WTF everytime I call them to make an appointment because I have something wrong that day not 2 days from now I can never get in! So I decided to go the clinic since they will always see me LOL. I get there and they clean my ear because of course it is so full of wax that I couldn't hear. When she got done and the dr looked at it I had an infection as well :( I hate ear infections!

My mother in law on the other hand is not doing so well. They put her back in the hospital yesterday and found out her femur bone is broken on the same leg that the knee was replaced on. I was pissed! The dr said he does not think he did it in surgery but I seem to think differently. How does someone just get a broken femur bone when she has not even moved out of bed in 8 days. So she is having surgery today to repair the broken femur and her therapy for her knee will have to wait until the femur heals. Poor thing I feel so bad for her!

The Bachelor

The first season this show was on I loved it! I even had a bachelor party for the final show with my friends. We ate pizza, drank beer and sat by the fireplace just trying to decide who he was gonna pick. It was alot of fun. The 2nd season was o.k. and after that they went downhill. I never even watched any of the other ones. I have been watching this one with Jason and liking it for some odd reason. I think it is because he is a father. I do however, look at these girls and think to myself they are so desperate. I mean seriously going on national T.V. airing all your personal information to the world to find a husband. Knowing that only one couple that I know of on the show got married. I get grossed out thinking that he is kissing all those girls! It really is sick! I would never put myself in that position and truely wonder how these girls can. Most of them are pretty girls so I wonder why is it they cannot find someone in real life. Do they just want to be famous from the show or do they have some issues. I think some of the girls on the season have some issues. I also wonder how do they all live in one house. I could probably do it because for the most part I get along with most women. I love women bonding time. I just think the show is long overdue to be cancelled. What is the purpose if from the past seasons only 1 couple has got married? I watched the Bachelor Tells all show last night and realized that the people from past seasons are hooking up with the girls from past seasons. Maybe that is why they do the show LOL. Seriously, how can you fall in love with someone in 6 weeks while he is dating other women? To me that just doesn't seem possible but I have been watching it. I think the reason I watch it is because I like the drama it makes me laugh. I would just never put myself in that position.

It is nice and sunny today! Supposed to warm up this week to like 45 woo hoo LOL. Everyone in Michigan is just waiting for the warmer weather. People that come into my work all say OMG I can't wait for spring. It has been way too long of a winter!

My mother in law went back into the hospital today from her rehab because her pain is not under control. So if you could say an extra prayer for her that would be nice! She sure has had a rough year. She had her hip replaced in February 2008, it popped back out 2 times so they went back in June and replaced it again. After that she did great in rehab and has been fine since getting this knee replaced. I thought knees were easier than hips but I guess I was wrong.

Weekends are not long enough!

I get so excited when it is Friday and then before you know it is Sunday night. I always say weekends are just not long enough. I started out leaving work on Friday and picking up my daughter and her 2 friends to go to the store to get stuff to make a mexican feast for them. These girls are15 and you would think they are easier in the store at that age NOT! I was trying to get my things and they were busy taking pictures of themselves and acting like maniacs. I just kept shopping trying to ignore them and trying not to laugh because they were just being silly teenage girls.

So you get the picture now LOL. I just love these girls they are so goofy and silly being with them brings back memories when I was a teenager and did some pretty retarded things with my girlfriends. So we get to the check out and they are bugging me for everything there like all kinds of candy. They lady in the next line is laughing and I looked over at her and she says I want to come over your house it looks like fun. I said it is fun! We went home and had a great dinner then they had to bake princess cupcakes. It is just so fun to watch them together. I fell asleep at about 10:30 and they all 3 stayed up til about 4:00.

Saturday we had a huge snow storm. We had to drive about an hour away to see my mother in law she had her knee replaced last week and is in rehab.

Sunday we went to church. After church we stopped by my step daughters to visit. We then went to Nick's buddies donut shop. I am not sure if this is nation wide or just in Michigan but we have a thing here called Fat Tuesday. It is the Tuesday before lent and the polish started making this huge fatening as hell donut call a Paczki. They are yummy jelly filled donut. I refuse to eat them but the kids and Nick wanted one so they got some and then we went home. That was pretty much it for the weekend. It was just filled with family which is the only way I would have it. Sometimes it is not what you do it is who you do it with.

Graduation

Yay it is Friday! I am so happy.

I have Dom's graduation slowly approaching and I am kinda freaking out a little bit. I want to have a really nice party for him and I am debating between having it at home or at a hall. I did the guest list last night and we have 104 and that is without all his friends. So I am thinking a hall would be good. I am trying to find one of those little halls like the VFW or something like that. I looked into the big halls and it is like $35.00 a plate and that is crazy. It is not a wedding just a graduation party. I am looking forward to it. I was thinking last night that I am gonna do a video with pictures of him growing up with a nice song playing in the background. OMG my oldest is graduating! I just can't believe how time has flew by. I am so proud of the man he has become. He decided he is not going to MSU because he got a scholarship for Wayne State University so he is going to go there. It is in the heart of Detroit. The campus is pretty safe it is just getting to the campus. It is a very good school tho. So he is looking into getting an apartment down there with a few buddies. So I am happy about that because he is going away but not that far LOL. It is a 45 minute drive from our house!

So it is Friday and yes that makes me happy! On the horomone side of things I have not had a period still! The hormones are still raging and the muffin top is still there ughhhh! I decided to go with it instead of fighting it LOL. So I am learning to enjoy the muffin top thing. I am making fun of myself with it LOL. I guess if you can't beat em join em right! LOL

I sure hope everyone has a good weekend and enjoys there families. I know I am.

Horomones

I have to discuss this because it is on my mind lately. So when your going thru puberty your cycle is not normal. It takes awhile for it to get normal. I think the same thing happens as we go thru premenopause or whatever you want to call. I hate that my cycle lately seems to have a mind of its own. I am so used to being normal that I hate not being normal. Ya know you get that crappy feeling (bloated, eating like crazy and yeah crabby). Then it goes away when you start. Well, delaying that start also delays the symptoms. It is just not good for everyone involved. Every morning this week Nick has asked did you start? I have said no and this morning I even said I am not going to think about it today. I thought that was possible until I had to get dressed and put my pants on. Holy shit!!!! I crammed myself in my biggest pair of pants I own. Not a good feeling :( In fact, I am feeling like a muffin top today! I am so thankful that we have to wear these button down oxfords to work with our logo on them because it hides alot.

So is anyone else going thru something similiar because I would really like to hear from you just to know that I am not alone in this wonderful world of premenopause?

I am going to have a good day despite the fact that I got stuff hanging out of the top of pants today LMAO.

American Idol

I am a absolute fan of American Idol and have been for the last 7 seasons. I missed the first season because I was not aware of the fact that it even existed. My kids first concert was American Idol the year Ruben won. So I look forward to it every year. This year they have changed the way they do things and I am not so sure about it yet. However, I already have a favorite, Danny Gokey (spelling? lol). I just love him. He is sooo heartfelt with his singing. His wife passed away a few weeks before his first audition. That takes alot for someone to be able to audition for this show right after that. I JUST LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!! I can't even watch him without getting teary eyed. I sure hope he wins. I know it is way too early to be predicting. I just know that even if he does not win something great is in his future!

So all you American Idol fans let me know what you think????

It is raining here today and in the mid 40's but that will change at about 5:00 today when it is supposed to drop into the teens woo hoo! I am sooo feeling the Magic LOL.

Morals

I am sure everyone knows by now I am divorced LOL I think I have bitched enough about my X. My kids are off this week for mid-winter break. This morning they went to their dad's house because it is his day. I have to first say that I have a bad case of PMS today. I pulled in his driveway to drop them off and the step-brothers girlfriend spends the night there all the time. I mean like sleeps with him in his bedroom. He is 21 but how I was raised it did not matter how old you were if you weren't married then that was not allowed. She was there this morning because her car was in the street with frost on the windows. I am PISSED! I have tried to raise my kids with better morals than that. I know I have no control over what goes on in his house but come on that is BS. His new wife just has way different ways of parenting her kids. She parties with them at the bars and allows this nonsense to go on. Am I just a prude or are there other parents out there that feel the same way. I need some input on this because lately I am feeling like a prude with a capital P.

On a better note when I went to church Sunday the service was about our church opening a campus in Orlando, Florida. They are looking for people to go down to Orlando and help them open this campus. I know I have said on this blog that I HATE the winters in Michigan and would love to live somewhere warm. They were having a meeting after church about whether or not you felt this was your calling. I did not attend the meeting. They also said they were giving out magets for your refrigerator that said "Feel the Magic 2010" that is their expected date to open in Orlando. It is supposed to be a reminder to pray about the success and whether your calling is to help them. I was so excited about this magnet that I looked at Nick and said not only am I gonna pray about this but I am gonna kiss that magnet everyday LOL. When we were walking out there was a guy standing there with a bright green shirt on that said FLORIDA and he looked at me 3 different times. I said to Nick see he is trying to tell me something LOL. So at this point it is a dream but you never know.

Valentine's Day

I used to love this day when my kids were younger because I think it is so cute when they take their little valentines to school with treats. I loved it when I was dating too. I like it now it is a chance to be romantic with your hubby or boyfriend. I went to the store last night to get Nick a card. It takes me a long time to pick out a card because I want just the right one with just the right words. I finally found one that I liked so I thought I will get him just a little something to go with it. I don't buy chocolate because I am allergic to it (I know selfish of me LOL). I looked and looked because I didn't want to spend a ton of money either. What is it a woman is supposed to buy for a man????? That is my question of the day LOL. They have all this cutesy stuff for woman that I would not buy Nick because it is girlie stuff. I guess you could go buy lingerie but that really is for you. I ended up buying him a bunch of lottery tickets and putting them in his card. I ended up meeting some of my friends last night for a few drinks and when I got home Nick had a half dozen of my favorite donuts on the table with flowers and a card. How sweet is that! Men have it easy on Valentine's Day because it is clearly more geared for woman.

Nick and I talked about what to do tonight and we decided to not go out to dinner because everyone in the universe will be eating out tonight. I hate waiting like more than 15 minutes for a table. He is gonna make me a steak dinner with all of our favorite things and then we are going downtown to the casino. It should be fun!

Absence makes the heart grow fonder!

Such a true statement! I couldn't say this earlier in the week because of my freakish belief that someone could locate me LOL. Nick has been out of town all week and he is coming home today. It has only been 5 days since I have seen him but it seems like forever. It is so funny how in my first marriage I used to beg my X to go out, get on a bowling league or have a drink with your friends after work LOL just to get him out of my freggen hair. It was much more peaceful in our home without him. In my marriage now it is the opposite. It is not because I need him to do things for me or anything like that. I am pretty self-sufficient. I miss him because our house is out of balance without him. The kids seem to be a little weird when he is gone too. I just miss him! I miss his smell, kisses and him sleeping next to me at night. The smell thing might sound kinda weird but everyone has their own smell and I love to kiss his face, feel his cheek on my lips and smell him. He has been in Chicago for work. He had a pretty intense week planned for him. He had a big presentation to do yesterday and was very nervous. He texted me to tell me he was nervous. Before bed every night I put my hand on his chest, close my eyes and just lay still for a minute to give him all my love. So yesterday when he said he was nervous I did just that via a text. I seriously closed my eyes to give him love and good luck. I could feel myself giving it to him and he texted back that yes he felt it! I got tears in my eyes at work because what a wonderful thing to feel his presence in me when he is not even near me. I love this man with all my being! He did great during his presentation and said to me that until I texted him that he was very nervous but after that he did it and got 2nd place for his presentation. I think it is just amazing how much support we are to each other. He just now called me and I answered and heard "hello dollface"! Just love him and can't wait to go to sleep with him tonight!

The flip side is I totally enjoyed my kids during the time he was gone. Marco always says when he is out of town it feels like the old days when it was just us. It gives us time alone which is nice. Last night we had a pj party in my bedroom and the twins slept on the floor. Dominic would not be caught dead sleeping on my floor LOL. Something we used to do alot when I was single.

The weather is shitty and I don't care today because my husband is coming home.

Weekend

We had a great weekend filled with activities. Sarah had her first actual date for the homecoming. I struggle with this but I let her do it anyway because I know I need to let go. Besides her twin is with her and I doubt that he will let anything happen to her. That is the positive of having twins.

It was 60 degrees here yesterday and it was wonderful. The snow is all melted now and I know spring is still far away but a girl can dream. It was just nice to be outside and enjoying the weather.

Friday!

Today is Friday my favorite day of the week. I will be sooo glad when the work day is over with because I am soooo tired. I have been running all week and could use some R & R. I doubt it is gonna happen tho because tonight we have a fundraiser at the school "dancing with the stars" it should be fun. Tomorrow we have a cheer compeitition in the morning and then the snowcoming dance with dinner and then a limo picking up the kids. It should be fun. Of course, I will post pictures! A busy weekend as usual! I kinda love it tho.

Not much other than that to blog about today. Just excited for the weekend. The weather is starting to break here. It is supposed to be almost 50 this weekend. Woo Hoo!

dress shopping

As I posted yesterday I was extremely tired and crabby. I left work early at about 2:30 and went home. Marco was home and he always has something to say. Marco has a very outgoing and sometimes obnoxious personality but I love it most of the time. He is just so full of life and love! Kinda like me LOL. Anyway he says mom (girls name) might get kicked of the cheer team. I said why? He said she was caught drinking. I said wow. I had to pick Sarah up from cheer at 4:30. We go and get her and I ask her is someone getting kicked off the cheer team? Her response yes mom 5 girls might be getting kicked off. I said please explain to me why. Then it started with these girls pulled the I'm staying the night as so and so's house and they head out for an adventure. They stayed at some guy's house and he had a party. I was shocked! I mean these girls are 14 and 15. So they got drunk and some sexual things went on. I WAS MORTIFIED!!!! One of these girls used to hang out with Sarah 2 summers ago and I was not happy about that then and I am so glad Sarah decided to not hang out with her anymore. I could sense she was trouble. So the conversation then turned into a lecture on how you should never do that and how Sarah would get caught doing something like that because I am always in her business. It just amazes me and I know you hear this stuff all the time. Just how times have changed since I was a teenager. I have always told my kids I don't ever for one second think they are never gonna come home drunk under age because I understand this stuff happens. I just always tell them do not drink and drive or get in the car with someone drinking and driving. Just call me no matter what time it is and I will come and get you. I also tell them don't mistake that as I giving you permission to go out and drink because that is not the case. I am just simply saying sometimes things happen and I was young once too.

We then headed to the mall for a dress for snowcoming. She want a strapless dress. I said oh no you are not getting a strapless dress. That started the whining and making faces at me like I was an alien. I kept pointed out beautiful dresses that were not strapless and finally she agreed to try it on. She liked it although not as much as her homecoming dress but like I explained to her this is not homecoming. LOL She is also going with her boyfriend to this dance. So we headed over to the shoe department and she immediately fell in love with these silver shoes that I swear have 4" heels on them. She tried them on and they look very adult but cute and matched the dress perfectly. OMG she wears a size 6 she has the smallest feet that she sure did not get from me as I am a size 8 1/2 and have fat feet LOL. So we bought them and the dress and were walking out of the store. She then said mom I need a shawl too and of course she got one. She was very excited about the shoes and shawl and was just ok with the dress LOL. I will post pictures after the weekend. They are taking a limo to this dance because all of us parents do not feel like carting them around all over in 4 seperate cars like we did for homecoming. We are doing a potluck dinner at one of the girl's house and the limo will pick them up from there at 6:00. It will be fun.

Dom is also going to the dance with a group of friends. We got a good deal on the limo so I offered him the same with his friends. He is so different than the twins. He does not like to be the center of attention or any special attention paid to him. He did not want it. I said Dom are you sure it will make it easier for you and your friends. No he did not want it. Such a great kid! He likes to shop at Wal Mart for his clothes and the twins like all name brand things. So funny! He is so humble. He does not even want a graduation party. I said Dom you will get money from everyone and that made it ok for me to have a party.

I need to get to work since I am leaving early again today. I am meeting my girlfriend for a pedicure and manicure. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE PEDICURES so I cannot wait to go.

Mondays

I worked this past Saturday and I hate that because it feels like I didn't get a weekend. I like to clean my house over the weekend and that didn't get done this weekend. So I feel behind on everything all week until it gets done. I really don't think it is getting done tonight because I have to go shopping with Sarah for a dress for Snowcoming and I am wayyy tired from being out late last night at a Superbowl party.

So I had a great weekend but just tired. Don't have anything more to post because I am simply tired LOL shall I say it again tired . I will get some good sleep tonight so that will help my situation out. Then I can come back with something good and fruitful to say. Until then,
