Random things

It is Thursday and boy I can't wait for the weekend. I always hate working my 1 Saturday a month because the following week gos by so slowwwwww! It seems as if Friday is never going to be here. We are also especially slow at work. I don't think I have ever said what I do on here LOL I work for a glass company as a Manager. Fall is always our slow time but this year OMG it is horrible. I wonder if and ever our economy is gonna recover? I see alot of building going on around me and wonder how the heck are they gonna rent commercial space or sell these houses. Michigan is really bad right now because of the big 3 with talks of merging and laying off alot of people. Michigan was built on the car industry. I personally know quite a few people that have already been offered buy outs and they are still talking about laying off 3,500 more people without buyout options. I just wonder when and if this is gonna get better. The area we live in is relatively new. The subdivisions started being built about 11 years ago and all the strip malls and business are only about 3 years old. I see vacant buildings everywhere...it is very depressing. Oh and lets not forget about all the people losing their houses to foreclosure. I just can't imagine where all these people are going.

On a lighter note Sarah made the competition cheer team!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited for her! She is getting some good muscles. She also told me she kissed her boyfriend yesterday...I was like did you kiss him with your mouth open. She was very grossed out by that so I guess that is a good sign LOL. She said mom nobody kisses with their mouth open! That made me smile.

I have been able to stay up later and later each night. That is a feat in itself. With it getting dark out so early it makes me want to sleep after dinner. Last night to keep myself up after dinner I went to the mall with my step daughter Racheal and we got some good deals. I had coupons for every $30.00 you spend you get $15 off. I had 4 of those. I got 2 coats, 2 scarfs and a shirt. Racheal got 2 coats and a pair of jeans. I was going with the mindset I was not buying anything for myself, however I am a coat and scarf freak. I was just so excited. Retail therapy is always good when the weather is nasty.

I am waiting for my scrapbook stuff to come from MO and am excited!

I am getting all ready for my first mini scrapbook so I have been downloading pictures like a crazy woman. I went the the craft show Saturday and bought some Dakota scrapbooking supplies to make each of the kids a High School scrapbook. While I was there my friend said they are starting a once a month Friday scrapbook night. Woo hoo I am in! I am not so sure what the end product is going to look like but hey I am gonna give it a shot. My creativity is pretty much non-existent but I am gonna work at it.

We had a pretty good weekend we went to the Casino in downtown Detroit Saturday after the craft show. I always go in thinking ok one day I am gonna win big but no such luck! That is ok I never go with any money that I can't lose anyway. We went to Nick's friends restaurant after and had a great dinner! I don't know about anyone else but since the time change I am having a hard time staying awake at night past like 8:30. It is so frustrating. It was snowing here this morning I got up and watched the news and seen there was a ton of accidents. In Michigan for the first snow everyone seems to forget how to drive.

Well, I am awake and it is 8:45 so looks like I am doing good tonight LOL.

Scrapbooking!

I have been following Mo's blog for awhile now and before she had her blog she was Jake's Aunt Mo on his caringbridge website. I just love her personality! She has a little scrapbooking project for everyone to join in on. I, however, am not that creative at all but I decided to take the plunge and try this out. Can you believe I am actually excited! I am so excited that I am going to Michaels today to buy my supplies needed so I am all ready when my mini-book comes in. I also took it a step farther and I am going to the craft show today at the kids high school because my neighbor and good friend has a stand for the band boosters that she is selling scrapbooking books that have the high school logo on. Wow these are huge steps for me. I normally like to buy everything because trust me I have the attention span of a flea! My hubby thinks this is funny because he said he is gonna be sitting there one night and the book will go flying thru the room because I will be frustrated! Actually, that sounds pretty close to the truth LOL. I am gonna prove him wrong tho. So go to Mo's website and join in on the scrapbooking fun!

We have had beautiful weather here this week that is until today and it seems as tho fall is here! That is ok with me tho I normally don't mind grey until after Christmas then I want spring to be here.

I am at work working my butt off (not so much) so I better get going!
