Grandma

We used to always have Sunday night dinner with Colleen and her family. Over the last 8 months or so we have not because everyone's life is too busy. We decided that yesterday we would all have dinner at my house. Colleen's daughter is 21 and engaged so her and her fiance came too. It was nice we all enjoyed dinner, talking and laughing. After dinner Colleen and I went into my room so I could show her some clothes that I bought. Soon after that her daughter told me she was pregnant. I was like OMG does your mom know? She said no I am afraid to tell her. She was pregnant last year and had a miscarriage. She is diabetic so pregnancies for her are going to be tough. I told her that she had to tell her mom because I cannot keep this secret because with our friendship we don't keep secrets like that. We all went back into my room and I was trying to make small talk hoping R (that is what I will call her daughter) would speak up. I kept saying stupid things like hey Colleen what do you think of my phone LOL. R kept smiling. Finally, Colleen guessed what was going on. I know that Colleen is very concerned for her health and so am I. Colleen immediately went into the marriage thing. R already had her plans made. I tried telling Colleen she is with a great guy and they have plans don't make her get married. Let her make her own decisions. We then went out to the great room and then everyone found out. Sarah was so excited. Running around saying she is gonna be an aunt LOL. I was getting joy out of calling my BF grandma. She kept saying the baby can just call me Colleen. I said oh no that baby will call you grandma cuz I will make sure of it. I am excited for R but also concerned about her health. She has already been to the drs and is due November 14th. R has a drs appointment on Friday and Colleen is going with her. It is so weird that our friendship has gone thru teen years, 20's, marriages, kids, divorces and now being a grandma. It just does not seem like we have been friends that long!

Michigan State won and will play tonight at like 9:00. Downtwon has been hopping this weekend. The only downfall is we got like 6" of snow last night so the people that are here from the south for the game did not expect snow! I was hoping the weather man was wrong so today I got on my Uggs and Saturday I had on flip flops. Go figure only in Michigan. Now my lillies are covered in snow and I am not snow blowing any of it.
